Plague 99 - Jean UreFrom book cover: How can three teenagers, Fran, Harriet and Shahid, survive a plague that has killed their parents and left London a ghost town? Fran is gentle, used to being led by Harriet, Harriet is used to having fun, Shahid is used to taking orders from his autocratic father. Now they just have one another…
I love end of the world books, and this is one I’m going to reread for Time Travel Tuesday. It’s about a teenager who returns from a wilderness trip to find that almost everyone in London has died from a deadly disease. It’s set almost exactly where I grew up, making it a particularly spooky read for me the first time round.
Catching Fire - Suzanne CollinsFrom book cover: Katniss Everdeen survived The Hunger Games. Now the Capitol wants revenge.
Does this one need any explanation?
Already read and reviewed (and fangirled over) below.
Forever - Judy BlumeSummary from Amazon: There's a first for everything. When you build up something in your mind -- really imagine it, wish for it -- sometimes, when it actually happens, it doesn't live up to your expectations. True love is nothing like that.
Especially not for Katherine and Michael, who can't get enough of each other. Their relationship is unique: sincere, intense, and fun all at the same time. Although they haven't been together all that long, they know it's serious. A whole world opens up as young passion and sexuality bloom.
But it's senior year of high school, and there are big changes ahead. Michael and Katherine are destined for another big "first": a decision. Is this the love of a lifetime, or the very beginning of a lifetime of love?
Donna at Bites posted about ALA’s Banned Books Week on Thursday, and I decided it would be interesting to join in and write some related posts about frequently ‘challenged’ YA books. Judy Blume’s Forever was the seventh most challenged book in the 1990s so I’m starting with that one.

Great books - happy reading and reviewing!
I've never read a Judy Blume book and Forever sounds interesting, maybe I should start with that one ...
ps: Just discovered your blog and I love it, I've already added myself to your followers! :)
HUNGER GAMES!!! read it 1st :D
Great books! Forever was actually a really good book.
Go Catching Fire! Forever is a classic. Enjoy!
That's a really interesting cover for Catching Fire. It's very different from the US hardcover (obviously, since it isn't bright red). Happy reading!
lol, I have Catching Fire on preorder on Amazon.com, and they say they won't ship it out until Sept. 8!!! Grrrr. I'm avoiding all reviews and discussions for now, so as not to spoil things for myself. All these Teams This and Thats have already gotten my nerves in a jumble!
Awesome.
I want to read Catching Fire and I read Judy Blume when I was younger! Lots of good books! Enjoy!
My In My Mailbox is up Here
Good looking books. I love that cover of Catching Fire.
Great books this week. Catching Fire was OMG! amazing and Forever is one of my all time favorite Judy Blume books.
Enjoy your reads :)
Forever! Love this one. It's earmarked to give to my teenaged daughter, if I ever have one. Plague 99 is definitely one for me.
I will read your Catching Fire review in T minus 10 days. (Hurry up Oz releases date!) Or ASAP after that.
Regarding Banned Books Week, no books have been banned in the USA for about a half a century. See "National Hogwash Week."
It has been a long time since I have read Judy Blume's Forever. I think that was the first teen book I read that had some serious steam at times. I'm also going to do banned books week but I'm going to read Looking For Alaska and I was thinking about rereading To Kill A Mockingbird. I can't wait to read Catching Fire.
Big YAY for Catching Fire! It's amazing. Forever is great too - hope you enjoy!
